Dot Com News from Week of April 1, 2002

4/4/02 Apple said it cut 375 jobs in the quarter ending Dec. 31 and planned to cut 50 more jobs. Apple took a $24 million restructuring charge in its January earnings report. 4/3/02  WorldCom Inc. said it will lay off 3,700 workers, about 4% of its work force. The job cuts, which are confined to the company's core WorldCom Group unit, are smaller and more contained than expected.
