- 11/10/00 - Faced with scant revenue opportunities, Mambo.com advised visitors that it was pulling the plug on the invite service and that customers should gather whatever information they entered into the site before it disappears. Mambo.com will discontinue its service on November 20th.
- 11/9/00 - Party invitation site Evite.com slashed its staff by about 60 percent as part of the company's plan to be acquired. The company has cut 42 of its 69 positions.
- Shopping site Respond.com has laid off 20 workers, or about 20 percent of its staff. Respond.com, which acts as a personal shopper for its customers, said the cuts affect all departments but were heaviest in marketing and services.
- 11/7/00 - MotherNature.com announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously voted to liquidate and dissolve the Company. MotherNature.com, Inc. is an online retailer of vitamins, supplements, minerals, and other natural and healthy living products.
- 11/7/00 - Pets.com, the online retailer whose TV mascot gained it widespread fame, said that it had fired most of the staff and was shutting down. Amid disappointing sales and a lagging stock price, Pets.com executives said yesterday they planned to sell the site's remaining assets.
- 11/6/00 - Furniture.com, Inc., the leading online retailer of furniture and home furnishings, has discontinued operations and laid off 76 of its 88 employees, citing difficulty securing sufficient capital to fund operations going forward.
